The clinical summary file displays the patient's problem list, medicine list, old problem list, old medicine list, allergy list, PCP and family history. Information can easily be moved between the medicine list and old medicine list by clicking on the green button with the central blue dot. Information can also be easily exchanged between the patient's problem list and old problem list.

The clinical summary file also displays the "fax list." Every physician name that appears on the "fax list" will automatically receive a faxed copy of every filed progress note. The automatic fax will be created at the time the note is automatically filed (if the appropriate fax software is installed on the user's computer) in ComChart^™ . This feature is extremely useful for those patients who are being jointly managed by more than one physician, such as a PCP and a specialist.

In many places, such as the clinical summary and prescriptions layout, ComChart now helps you to minimize typing by incorporating a pop-up list (for diseases, medicines, etc) from which you can select to help eliminate typing.

Print outs of the clinical summary will appear as follows:

If a physician wants to print the patient's prescriptions, they need only click on the "Rx" button located in the upper right and you will be taken to the Prescriptions file. After a physician reviews the patient's clinical summary, they will typically review the patient's last few progress notes.
